Light Chemical Peels
Treatment available in: Belfast, Ballymena, Lisburn & Holywood
Chemical Peeling is useful for many problems that exist in the surface of the skin.Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs), are a group of naturally occurring substances often referred to as fruit acids, because they are found naturally in various fruits and other foods. Beta hydroxyl acid (BHA) namely Salicylic Acid, is derived naturally from bark and green leaves. Such acids are fat-soluble which enables them to penetrate into the pores to unblock pores and therefore it is excellent in treating acne-prone skin.
How does it work?
A chemical peel containing AHAs removes the dead outer layers of the skin. Chemical peels are basically an accelerated form of exfoliation induced by the use of chemical products. The process of chemical peeling allows the removal of the damaged layer of skin by these agents, which lies over the undamaged skin. The end result is skin which appears healthier, plumper, and tighter.
What conditions can be treated?
Fine lines and wrinkles, surface pigmentation, uneven skin tone, acne scarring and active acne can all be improved to some degree by the use of chemical peeling.
How much does it cost?
A light chemical peel costs approximately £70 per session. Contact a clinic for more information and to arrange an appointment.
Are there any after effects?
Generally after a peel your face simply feels cleaner, or maybe tighter or drier with minimal change in appearance.
What results can I expect?
After treatment you will experience an ongoing improvement in skin appearance and texture, softening of fine lines, diminishing of coarse lines , increased smoothness in skin texture, mild to moderate levelling of acne scars, lightening of pigmentation irregularities, an increase in the skins natural glow or radiance and minimisation of pore size.
Improvements in the appearance of dry skin, oily skin, problem skin and surface pigmentation has been seen, as well as softening of lines and wrinkles, and leveling of acne scarring.
