Vein-Away Thread Vein Removal
Treatment available in: Ballymena
A revolutionary way of treating red veins immediately is here. Red veins - also known as broken veins, dilated capillaries and thread veins - can be caused by: dilated capillaries (as our bodies try to conserve heat), circulatory disorders, blackhead removal around the nose area, diet/food, hormones, pregnancy, heredity, extremes of temperature, the clothes we wear, sporting activities, smoking and sunlight. What is Vein-Away?
Vein-Away is a revolutionary way of treating red veins, red spots, telangectasia and rosacea. Vein-Away method is based on thermo-coagulation, tracing the vein with the machine, the vein disappears instantaneously with one treatment.
How does it work?
A visible light from the applicator is guided through a layer of gel to the affected area. This light is absorbed by the haemoglobin in the surface vein and is converted into heat. This heat then destroys the protein in the wall of the vein and as a result it will gradually fade and disappear. The light is harmless to the surrounding tissues and cannot affect any deeper veins, as the light will simply disperse after a certain depth.
Can my veins be treated?
How many treatments do I need?
Vein-Away can instantly remove individual veins in 1 treatment. Depending on how the severity and number of red veins and the area being treated, up to 4 treatments would be recommended for complete removal.
Does it hurt?
Some describe it as similar to an elastic band snapping on the skin, or a warm sensation after can last several minutes. Therefore, ice is applied immediately after the treatment to cool the area and to try to keep swelling at bay.
How long does it take?
A full and detailed consultation is carried out before treatment, which will take 20-30 minutes. The treatment itself is very quick - seconds for a few individual veins or up to 45 minutes for a full face.
Are there any side-effects?
There no long lasting side-effects, there is 1 very insignificant side-effect of micro-crusting, which develops over the traced vein. This can last for a few days to 1 week, depending on the severity of the vein. The micro-crusting feels slightly rough to touch but is not usually visible. With this treatment there is no need to avoid sun exposure for months after treatment.
Are there any special precautions before and after treatment?
The treatment cannot be carried out on skin types 5&6 and the area being treated must be as pale as possible.
We recommend applying an S.P.F. of 30 or above for 2 months before the treatment and continued daily use for maximum skin protection from sun and wind.
The week before your treatment we also request that you avoid using ibuprofen type products or aspirin which both have an effect on the consistency of the blood. Smoking also has this effect so we ask that you refrain from smoking for at least 4 hours before and after treatment.
After the treatment you can expect to see some swelling in the area which may last from 2-4 days. This may be accompanied by redness and in rare occasions bruising. No scarring or scabbing should occur.
We recommend no heat on the area for 48hrs after treatment and regular application of cool swabs or aloe vera if it feels uncomfortable.
It is advised not to use sunbeds, or to sunbathe one month prior to red vein treatment
